March 2024 - Payroll Run

We shall be running centralized payroll for the March month for all employees and pensioners on 16th evening till 18th morning except Perambalur district.

Perambalur district has chosen a pilot run for a decentralised payroll run similar to the previous month.

IT Calculation

Since many DDOs requested for additional time to declare the tax savings details, IT auto deduction has been moved to April month onwards but, for the Treasury department alone deduction will start from this month March onwards.

1. Many DDOs are already declared the tax savings plan. Does IT get auto deducted from this month?

 *Ans*: No. The already declared details will be taken for April month onwards. However, DDOs shall manually add the IT deductions for March month similar to the previous month's.

2. Few DDOs are not yet declared the IT plan. Shall i continue to declare or wait? 

*Ans*: IT declaration window will be disabled during the payroll period and will enable back in the first week of April to continue declaring the saving details.

3. There is an option to upload proof document. Do i need to upload now? 

*Ans*: No. Proofs needs to be submitted only in the month of Dec'2024.

4. Mistakenly I selected the regime option and the declared value is not correct. How can I change? *Ans*: There is an option given to DDOs to delete the declaration based on the employee or pensioner request.

5. I have already declared some amount but later I want to change. How to do this.? *Ans*: From 1st till 15th of every month and before the payroll run, Employees and Pensioners shall get an option to review and change the amount, however swap between the regime options may not be possible.
